Another year down and another year of growth and progress. The digital world continues to expand its influence and our penetration testing services, load testing services, and software development services expand with it. We’ve had a strong year, despite the difficulties, and are excited to see what the new year holds for us. For now, let’s take a look back at the highlights!
Merger with Magic Media
One huge piece of news was our merger with the Magic Media group. An international gaming and entertainment service provider, we’ve worked alongside their team more than a few times. Our cybersecurity and load testing services, along with our software development expertise, have now joined with their plethora of gaming and entertainment services. This was a hugely beneficial partnership that has now turned into much more. Together, we’ve already begun to expand and grow our combined offerings. 2025 will, no doubt, hold many more exciting adventures as part of the Magic Media team.
Endorsements from Amazon and Tencent
Another piece of phenomenal news was receiving a testimonial from both Amazon Games and Tencent! We’re delighted to receive these honours after several collaborations in delivering both our keystone services of penetration testing and load testing to these industry giants. It’s rare to get a testimonial from Amazon Games we hear! Something we’re even prouder of! We went through many stages, passing through layers of policies and procedures. Now, we have it!“After a year of collaborating with Cyrex on multiple game security assessments, I can say with confidence that their team of security experts has been instrumental in helping us identify and address security concerns in our game software and infrastructure.
The Cyrex team brings a wealth of experience and deep technical expertise in game security, Throughout our engagements, the Cyrex team has demonstrated a true partnership mentality.
They work closely with us to understand our specific security requirements and challenges, and tailor their assessments accordingly. They are responsive, transparents, and always go the extra mile to ensure we get the maximum value from their services.” – Amazon Games
In addition to the Tencent testimonial, we’ve also become a gold partner with the titan that is Tencent Global. This means we’re assisting Tencent global and its divisions in their load testing and security testing needs in a far more consistent and integrated capacity. It’s truly remarkable to be in this position, we’re so proud of our team for achieving this incredible position after years of work and dedication.
“When it comes to load and penetration testing, Cyrex are clearly the market leader. They provide me with confidence that our game titles will go to market without major security or scalability issues at launch.
They go beyond simply API end point testing and offer full player representative load testing, which enables the backend and online systems to be tested as one rather than independently.
The output quality of their reports is extremely high and they provide actionable feedback for development teams, that enables them to address potentially critical issues before they hit the public. Highly recommend. 10/10.” – Tencent
New Tech in 2024
Cyrex Swarm is our big name in this section. Our proprietary headless load testing tool has been used and tested by several of our trusted partners. This year saw Swarm enter full commercialization, building a customer facing product used by someone beyond our partner group!Swarm, as a product, is all about independence handed directly to our clients. Once we work with them on the initial set up and its operation – you are free to pay for exactly what you want, the numbers you want, when you want it! It’s still finding its feet, but this year has been promising and we’re delighted to see it making strides.
Currently, Swarm has gone beyond its pilot and is quite mature as a program. With 8 years of experience, we’ve been using it daily. This customer facing aspect, wrapped around our tested tech, is the exciting development this year.
New Growth and our Portfolio
As always our team continues to grow in both size and scope. When we started this company and each year since, we’ve had a list of studios, companies, and partners that we wanted to work with. Over recent years, that list has had a lot of boxes ticked. This past year, more than ever! And on top of it, that list has never been smaller as we have had the pleasure of collaborating with a vast array of incredible teams and studios. As always we can’t name too many, given a multitude of NDAs, but keep an eye out for some very secure and stable games in the near future! The Future and AI Technology
Games are more online focused, more online integrated, more online components or elements, than ever before. We’ve talked about this a lot already! This trend has affected the landscape significantly and we think it’s here to stay. This means there are a lot more risks innately for developers and players. We’re happy to say the attitude and security maturity has improved alongside the commonplace multiplayer elements. As for AI, we’ve been working and exploring it since day 1! AI is definitely changing the security scene (as many other industries), we are looking at leveraging AI in helping identify vulnerabilities, both during source code reviews as in active testing. AI is mostly used as a companion, enhancing the experience for the tester. Making them more productive and leaving no stone unturned.
