Mini Royal Nations

Client:Faraway

Cyrex partnered with Faraway to conduct white box penetration testing for Mini Royale: Nations, securing gameplay systems, Web3 integrations, and core platform features to protect its Solana-based ecosystem.

The Challenge

Securing a Web3 FPS with a Community-Driven Economy

Mini Royale: Nations combines fast-paced FPS gameplay with land control mechanics and social systems, built on the Solana network. The title blends PvP and PvE modes within a browser-based, free-to-play ecosystem that incorporates microtransactions and blockchain elements.

For Faraway, security was foundational.

The game’s architecture included:

  • Browser-based gameplay components
  • Blockchain integrations on Solana
  • Microtransaction and shop systems
  • Social features such as parties, clans, and friends
  • Competitive progression systems including battle pass mechanics

In Web3-enabled environments, vulnerabilities can impact not only gameplay fairness but also transactional integrity. Faraway required a partner capable of performing a deep architectural review before scale introduced unnecessary risk.

The Cyrex Solution

White Box Penetration Testing Across Gameplay & Platform Systems

Cyrex conducted comprehensive white box penetration testing, analyzing the game with visibility into its internal implementations.

This approach allowed our engineers to assess logic, validation flows, and integration points beyond what external-only testing can reveal.

Core Gameplay & System Validation

Our testing methodology focused on systems central to both gameplay integrity and user interaction, including:

  • Cosmetics systems (e.g., skins)
  • Physics implementations
  • Shop and microtransaction logic
  • Authentication and registration flows
  • Party and clan systems
  • Friends and social mechanics
  • Battle pass progression systems

Each feature was evaluated for improper trust assumptions, manipulation opportunities, and logic vulnerabilities that could impact competitive balance or platform integrity.

Web3 & Transactional Security Considerations

Given the Solana-based architecture, we assessed how blockchain components interacted with gameplay and platform services. The objective was to validate secure integration between on-chain elements and in-game mechanics.

This included reviewing transaction handling, user validation processes, and the way Web3 components interfaced with traditional backend services.

The Outcome

Strengthened Security for a Growing Web3 Ecosystem

  • Identification and remediation of vulnerabilities across gameplay and social systems
  • Reinforced authentication and registration workflows
  • Strengthened microtransaction and shop security
  • Improved confidence in Web3 and backend integrations
